As described in the 2001 April 23, 2001 edition of time magazine:“Viniyoga…is the most highly customized form of yoga. Viniyoga teachers cater stretching potions to individual student’s needs and abilities. Function is stressed over form, with an emphasis on integrating the flow of movement of the breath with the movement of the spine.”
The approach of Viniyoga is to allow the posture to adapt to each student and because of the coordination of movement with the breath some will experience a meditative quality. With the unique adaptation to each student the approach can be exceptionally healing and can be done by people with different levels of physical ability, including those with limited ability. My goal is to make yoga accessible to all people that can benefit from it and to let yoga serve them in their distinctive physical state and way of life.
